Parents and students - you are in for an adventure this year! This year will mark my 28th year of teaching high school German, and my tenth year at Providence. Prior to coming to Providence, I was at Butler High School for 11 years, where I taught German I through German AP. During my career, I have taught German I through AP & IB German Level 5, have been fortunate enough to be named Providence High School Teacher of the Year (2021-22), North Carolina German Teacher of the Year and Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year in 2007, have a 100% pass rate on the AP Exam & IB Exams, served as President of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Association for Teachers of German (when I taught in Rock Hill), had three students win an all-expenses paid trip to Germany as a result of their exemplary performance on the National German Exam and chaperoned 7 trips to Germany with students. I am excited to be at Providence High School, with the largest German program in North Carolina and one of the largest in the country, an extremely active German Club, a supportive administration, an amazing & supportive colleague in Frau Humphrey, and most importantly, wonderful students!
